Welcome to the Moor research group at Utah State University!
The group is headed by Dr. Moor, an assistant professor in environmental engineering. We are part of the Utah Water Research Lab, one of the largest university-based water research facilities in the U.S., and are associated with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. We study environmental chemistry, using chemistry principles and spectroscopy to elucidate degradation pathways of organic contaminants. A focus of our group is photochemistry and light-driven processes - how light interacts with contaminants and how they then degrade. Our overall goal is to leverage this fundamental understanding of pollutant degradation to predict the environmental fate of organic pollutants. Check out the research projects page for more information.
Our lab is located in Logan, Utah, an hour and a half north of Salt Lake City. The area has great access to the Bear River Mountain Range with opportunities for almost any outdoor activity depending on the season. The Utah Water Research Lab resides at the mouth of Logan Canyon, where hiking, mountain biking, climbing, and skiing abound.
